I am prompted to write this due to a massive failing in the British press. I have seen a number of reports of the Israeli attack on the prison but have found no attempt explain why Israel thought it could invade another country, or why it felt the need to put on trial people already convicted of the crime. It seems that the press just report the events and not the underlying reasons and assumptions. Why is there no condemnation forthcoming from the British government? I can fully accept withdrawal of British staff if they new they were about to be bombed by Israel but please don't blame the Palestinian Authority, and would Israel have attacked knowing the British were still inside? Whatever the failings of the Palestinian Authority we can not allow Israel to drive tanks where it likes. I can only imagine the dire consequences if Iran attacked an Iraqi jail or heaven forbid the Chinese attack an Indian jail. I wonder if there are any prisoners in the USA that Mexico would like to retry?
